The Quran is the last book sent by ALLAH (SWT). Parents and Teachers should tell the children about the Holy Quran and the rewards of reading it. Parents should make the habit of reciting the Holy Quran in front of kids so that they connect with it and understand its importance in Islam.

THE PROPHETS:  

Teaching kids about the Prophets and their stories is also important. You can tell the stories of the different prophets to the child during bedtime. Also, many stories of Prophets for kids are available that can be used to teach children. Using engaging stories and visuals is the best way to tell them about the Prophets of Islam.

FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM:   

Islam is based on the five pillars. We should tell our children about these five pillars that are Shadah (Faith), Salah (Prayers), Sawm (Fasting), Zakat (charity), and Hajj (The Holy Pilgrimage). You can draw pictures of these pillars of Islam on colorful papers and paste them on the walls or boards so that children see them often and understand it.

GOOD MANNERS:  

Love, peace, sympathy, and brotherhood are given so much importance in our religion. Teaching kids about kindness and respect is something we can do every day through small actions. This can be done by telling them stories, showing them Islamic videos, and through real-life examples. You can teach the children to share their food with their classmates or to be kind to teachers, parents, friends, and other people around them. 

TEACH KIDS SMALL DUAS:   

Teaching Duas to Muslim kids is also a great way of connecting them to Islam. There are many duas that we can teach to children like dua before sleeping, dua before and after eating, dua for traveling, and dua for drinking milk, etc. These duas are very short and easy to learn. ISLAMIC MONTHS:  

Children must know about the Islamic months. Most children don’t know about the Islamic year and lunar calendar. Parents should teach them about the Islamic months and the number of days in each month. This way they will also learn about the special events of Islam.

TEACH THEM ABOUT GRATITUDE:  

Being thankful to ALLAH Almighty is the biggest quality of any person. We should try to instill the habit of gratitude in kids. We should teach them that ALLAH is the only provider, and he provides us with everything we need, so we should thank him always. Whenever a child eats or drinks something, tell them to say ALLHAMDULLILAH. If they are buying a new toy or dress, tell them to thank ALLAH for providing them with new clothes and toys. This habit will eventually make them grateful and mindful as well.

IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER FOR KIDS:  

Salah ( Prayer) is an important aspect of Islam. It is an obligatory act and must be done daily. Islam also tells us to teach children about Salah from an early age. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also mentioned that we should teach our children to pray Salah from the age of 7. Hence, we should teach our children about Salah from the beginning.

FUN ISLAMIC ACTIVITIES:  

Children get bored easily and can feel distracted soon. To maintain their interest and to build up their engagement, parents can introduce Islamic fun activities to the children to teach them Islamic values. Parents and teachers can roleplay, use Islamic board games, read stories, and Nasheed to teach the kids. Teaching kids through activities will keep them engaged and they will learn faster.
